Context

Mid-air, two jumpers narrowly avoid disaster as their canopies tangle momentarily before breaking free. Another skims dangerously close to the treetops, clipping a branch before crashing hard into the underbrush. The team lands scattered and disoriented, the thick haze and swirling embers swallowing all sense of direction. Landmarks are unrecognizable.
Minutes feel like hours as the team regroups, scanning through the smoke to identify key features. Finally, the faint outline of the Western Firebreak Line emerges about a kilometer away—but only half the team is accounted for. The others are missing, their fate uncertain. Attempts to establish radio contact yield nothing but static, amplifying the sense of isolation. The fire’s relentless crackle grows louder, closer. Every second counts. Breaches need confirming, fire behavior assessed, and actionable intel gathered—all under fractured conditions, with the weight of missing teammates hanging heavily over every decision.
