Six months have passed since the pivotal decision to donate the company’s assets and invest in community initiatives as the strategy for winding down Amazonia’s operations in the Amazon Basin. We are here to present the outcomes of this choice.
This option aimed at positive community relations and long-term goodwill. It received highly positive public perception; however, it carried moderate to high legal risks requiring careful planning and due diligence.
After thorough assessment, we have determined that this option will lead to termination of performance. The termination will be effective after the completion of the winding down activities, which is expected to take another 12 months. We appreciate the efforts to engage with the local communities but these were offset by the legal complexities associated with asset donation.
